I’ll break down some of what he said about the depth of field:
In camera lens-speak a ‘prime’ lens is a lens that is at a fixed focus distance (not a zoom).
f1.3 aperture for the lens means that there is a very large quantity of light that is allowed in (to the lens), which typically equates to a very shallow depth of field (a shallow area is in focus whereas areas in front of, and behind the focus region are very, very out-of-focus/blurry).
search wikipedia for ‘depth of field’ for more info

@soridosuneku – He said that they chose to use both.
October 9th, 2010 at 9:37 am
@haloharley15 So did he say they instead chose not to do depth of field? just like the chose to use lens flare anyway?
October 9th, 2010 at 9:37 am
@soridosuneku
shallow depth of field – he then states the measurements they ended up using, but I never remember the technical details they never stick to the noggin

This film is a videogamer’s and sci-fi fan’s wet dream, it’s release couldn’t be more timely.
October 9th, 2010 at 9:37 am
@soridosuneku They needed to work on the depth of field and not have lens flare.

Anyone catch what the guy said at 10:25? He discusses two things they were told to stay away from using 3-D, but I couldn’t catch the first thing.

In these kind of things, every time you hear the word “Revolutionary,” a bell should go off in your head and a counter should advance in the corner of your eye. It’s almost always code for “this is confusing crap that I don’t understand or even care about” and/or “this whole movie is a vapid parade of spectacle for people who think Casablanca sucked coz there were no zombies”
In 11 minutes, I heard the word Revolutionary only 2 times. That, my friends, is a very good thing for this film.
