This song really helped me get through my brother’s death becasuem afterall, I was ‘only trying to help you [him]‘, as sung perfectly with the right emotions.
such a gorgeous song- by far the best he’s ever done. his & helen’s voices are perfectly intertwined in this….to anyone who says that their songs were all disposable pop- I say listen to this!
this is an awesome song. George maybe everything in the book to some people, but i hope songwriter and vocalist is in there too. and who can forget Helen Terry’s voice…an abosolute great singer!
and Boy Geoge is also the composer of this song,, he explained how he wrote it,,, talking in one of the reunion concerts…
its much about mothers, sufferetts of the family, dysfunction etc….
very deep song,, and so beautiful..
why did Helen not reunite in the reunion concerts back when?
